June 14, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment
Dear brothers, if someone is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help him back onto the right path, remembering that next time it might be one of you who is in the wrong. (Galatians 6:1)
Discipline is a sign of love, but only if the purpose is to correct and restore and not merely to punish or get even. Such is what our God, who is love, does. That's how His justice works. As believers in Him and His ways, we are to do this gently and with patience when dealing with a brother who is caught in any trespass, taking heed lest we ourselves fall and making sure we do it not for anything else but for their good, to their edification.
