March 6, 2025 Daily Dose of Discernment

“Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn 1:29)

The gospel is encapsulated in the words of Saint Paul - God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them. God sees sin not as an offense to His honor but a disease afflicting and killing His beloved children. This is why He sent His Son to take away the sin of the world.

As we begin the Lenten season, let us feed our hearts and minds with the truth of God's immense pardon and assimilate it more and more until it translates into a regular daily practice. According to the Lord's Prayer, if we do this, and freely forgive as we have been freely forgiven, we hasten the coming of God's kingdom. That's the goal.
