“Breakout Groups”

Acts 5: 20, 25: “Go, stand and speak to the people in the temple the whole message of this life ,,, someone came and reported to [the Sanhedren] ‘The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!’”

On the Day of Pentecost it seems that all of the 120 were initially speaking (in tongues unknown to them) to the crowd in Jerusalem, then Peter rose up and became the sole speaker of the Church’s first sermon (Acts 2: 14 ff). However, in today’s reading it is obvious that all of the twelve apostles have spread themselves throughout the temple grounds, and are each sharing with the people “the whole message of this new life.” This is the way of the Church; every member doing his or her part, together getting the job done.
