October 14, 2021 Daily Dose of Discernment

When you come together, each of you has a hymn, a teaching, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. (1 Corinthians 14:26)

The Holy Spirit has blessed the Church with different gifts. What an experience it is to see all of it at work in harmony as an ensemble. But if these gifts are in operation and yet there is no love behind them, they amount to nothing. On the other hand, if the motivation for their use is for the common good, it will bring glory to God and serve as an effective witness to people.

Each has received a gift and therefore has something to offer. Let no one bury his own or keep it to himself for his own profit. Rather, let everyone employ it for the purpose it was given in the first place - the edification of others.
