Luke 21: 3, 4:“Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on.” Look closely: Did Jesus condemn the rich for giving to the treasury? No, He just said that their offering was smaller than they thought. Their pride in giving exorbitant amounts was misplaced. The ones whom scriptures speak against are those who, for whatever reason, give incomplete, meaningless, or tainted offerings—or nothing at all.
