Saturday, July 8: “Uncircumcised Ears VI”
Acts 9: 11, 12:“The Lord said to [Ananias], Get up and go to the street called Straight, and inquire from the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying, and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him, so that he might regain his sight.”
Saul of Tarsus is a prime example of what happens when someone responds to the Lord’s confrontation with openness of heart, ears, and eyes. His eyes had already been blinded to the clarion call of St. Stephen (Acts 1: 8), but when physically blinded by the light of Christ, it led to the seeing eyes, hearing ears, and caring heart of a chosen instrument of God who bore the Nameof Christ to all the world for all time.
