Saturday, March 2: “The Odd of God VII”

Mark 5: 9, 10, 17: “Constantly, night and day, he was screaming among the tombs and in the mountains, gnashing himself with stones. [Jesus] was asking him, ‘What is your name”? And he said to Him, ‘My name is Legion; for we are many.’ And [the people] began to implore Him to leave their region.”

Who do you think is the odder example of humanity: The demoniac of the tombs with his legion of evil spirits, or the citizens of the region who rewarded Jesus for making the area safe again by asking Him to leave? The more we realize the vulnerable, gullible nature of man’s soul the more we must realize and exalt the greatness of God’s powerful mercy and love; through which the Odd of God is restored and made useful for His service.
