September 9, 2024 Daily Dose of Discernment

“It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you first” (Acts 13:46)

The nation of Israel was a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, that should show forth the praises of God who called them. His intention was not to have a select few to exclusively receive His favor but for them to be a showpiece nation to the world for their inspiration, and a vehicle through whom all the families of the earth would be blessed. Unfortunately, they lost sight of their calling.

As the Church, the new Israel, we need to wise up and learn from the mistakes of our forefathers. Let us humbly understand that we may have been called first, but everyone else is likewise chosen and loved by God just as much. He wants them in His fold and us to be involved in bringing that about.
