Sunday, July 28: “Happy Consequences”

Psalm 24: 3-5a: “Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? And who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully. He shall receive a blessing from the Lord.”

Is standing in the Lord’s holy place high atop His hill a choice, or something we’re predestined and programmed to do? Unless it’s born of free will, it means nothing. However, when we walk purely and truthfully before Him out of our own free will, we receive His blessing for it. There are positive consequences for using our free will well; for choosing to walk in his light. This is the Covenant God made with us, and we must realize the difference our choices make.
