Ephesians 4: 1, 2: “Walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing forbearance to one another in love.” None of us were worthy to receive anything we were given by God: salvation, righteousness, or the divine calling which we all possess. But now that we have our calling as soldiers of the cross, we must live up to it; not with Pharisaical arrogance but by Christ-like humility. As imperfect warriors living humble, gentle, and patient lives toward our fellow imperfect soldiers, we preserve the unity and peace of the Body of Christ, which is of utmost importance to God.
