Tuesday, January 23: “God Intentions III”

John 5: 5, 6: “A man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had already been a long time in that condition, He said to him, ‘Do you wish to get well?’”

Jesus had been visiting Jerusalem three times per year since He was twelve years old, and each time He had seen this lame man at the pool of Bethesda. Imagine how He had wanted to heal him! But it was not yet His time then; even at the first Passover after beginning His ministry, not yet. But the time finally came, and then Jesus was quick to respond. Maybe you have been waiting on the Lord for a long time, and are wondering if your time will ever come. Do not doubt; when the fullness of time comes, the Lord will make you well.
