Tuesday, September 10: “Noble Mountain”
Psalm 48: 3: “God, in her palaces, has made Himself known as a stronghold.“
Whenever the sons of Korah describe or refer to God’s dwelling place, the City of God, the holy place, Mount Zion, they do so in the feminine gender. We see this not only here, but also in verses 8, 12, and 13 of this psalm, as well as in Psalm 46: 5, and much of Psalm 87. This is the place the Lord speaks more highly of than any other in scripture, and He does so with terms of endearment as a man to a maid. Wherever God gets the reputation as a misogynist, it isn’t in the scriptures.
