Tuesday, September 3: “Christ the Prince of Peace”
Acts 12: 6: “On the very night when Herod was about to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and guards in front of the door were watching over the prison."
Imagine that you are on Death Row, scheduled for execution the very next day. Someone close to you has experienced this same fate days before. Are you worried? Afraid? If you are St. Peter, you go to sleep–so soundly, it takes an angel to wake him up. This is why Isaiah calls Jesus Christ the “Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9: 6), and further promises that He will keep in perfect peace anyone who trusts in Him (Isaiah 26: 3).
