“God Intentions  XVIII”

Romans 12: 1 “Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which  is your spiritual service of worship.” 

No, St. Paul is not talking about self-immolation. It is pointless to intentionally wound yourself; God gets no glory from that. He is speaking to the Romans as he did to the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 6: 19-20). We glorify God with our bodies by service, using the gifts He has given us (vv. 6-8) as a holy sacrifice to Him.
