Wednesday, June 7: “Crusin’ thru 2 Cor, Part IX”

2 Corinthians 7: 16: “And I rejoice that in everything I have confidence in you.” When reading through both Corinthian letters one is struck by how many issues St. Paul had with them. They were disunited, they were selfish, they were immature, they were confused … the list goes on and on. But in the midst of it all stands this remarkable verse. How can St. Paul say this? Because he has committed this Church and its members to God. He sees them as the Lord sees them; as triumphant in Christ (2 Corinthians 2: 14). Do we see others in this way, or only through their obvious failures and fallacies? Faith sees as God sees (2 Corinthians 5: 7).
