“Slaves No More”

Hebrews 2: 15: “… that He might … deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.” Fear of death can indeed enslave you – to quacks both medical and religious, as they turn up the fear-based manipulation: “If you don’t try this treatment/drug/theology, you’re gonna die! Then what?” But knowing that he who used to have the power of death has been rendered impotent by Jesus Christ, such fear has no place in us. If you’re afraid to die, you need to go back to the Gospel.
