“The Fall and Rise of Jesus Christ ”

Micah 7: 8: “Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy, though I fall I will rise; though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.” This is one of the Old Testament prophecies of the resurrection, which are so many but were so little understood at the time. Jesus did fall in death, and dwelt in the heart of the earth, darkness, for three days and three nights. He Himself said so in Matthew 12: 40. But then the Lord, His Light, caused Him to rise again, and brought Him out into the light (v. 9); and as we also know, we shall follow! (John 13: 36)
