“Mr. Smarty Pants?”

1 John 2: 27: “As for you, the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you.” Wow, is there really a time where you are smarter than everyone, and no longer need a teacher? Frankly, all those I know with that attitude are unbearably arrogant, and impossible to deal with. This only applies if we first remember v. 24: “Let that abide in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard in the beginning abides in you, you will also abide in the Son and in the Father.” Only with that as your foundation can God’s abiding anointing lead you from there.
