“Mediterranean Triangle”

Acts 11: 22, 25: “… and they sent Barnabas off to Antioch … and he left for Tarsus to look for Saul.” Cyprus, the home of Barnabas (Acts 4: 36), is an island in the Mediterranean less than a hundred miles southeast of Antioch, so Barnabas was probably familiar with the place, as were the other Cypriots who went there (v. 20). About the same distance in a more northerly direction was Tarsus, and the distance between Tarsus and Antioch by sea was about half that. In the plan of God these cities, seemingly unrelated, converged to become witnesses of the Gospel, as the Cypriot and Tarsinian came together in Antioch to spark a world-wide revival!
