1 Kings 1: 48: “The King has also said thus, ‘Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, Who has granted one to sit on my throne today while my own eyes see it.’” Whether we realize it or not, one of our primary responsibilities in life is to make sure we leave behind one to sit on our throne. Whatever that throne is – the throne of a parent, deacon, lover of God – we must insure that someone will take up that mantle when we are gone. David certainly didn’t leave this to chance, neither can we!
