“Enter with Caution”

Psalm 5: 7: “But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house, at Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You.” Do you bow before entering the Church sanctuary? David did. He knew that he really, really, really didn’t belong there on his own, and without God’s mercy he’d be zapped like a French fry if he tried. The thought humbled him to the point of contrition. Sometimes he could get wild and free once he got inside, but not without some serious humility first.
