Friday, January 19: “Growing Together in Love VI”

John 4: 23, 24: “An hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

Jesus here speaks of a worshiping community (worshipers, people, those) rather than individuals. The borders of His Church are enlarged when all her members unite their tongue in the sweet waters of worship and exaltation of the Lord, and reject the bitter water of slander and reproach against the brethren. (James 3: 8-12)
