Friday, May 26: “Unchanging Plan”
Hebrews 8: 5: “Who serve a copy and a shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to enter the tabernacle, for, ‘See,’ He says, ‘that you make all things according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.’”
There is actually a pattern for heavenly worship–a pattern seen in the Book of Revelation, a pattern the Old Testament tabernacle was built to bring to earth. When we get so focused on “creative” worship that we deviate from the pattern, or write “worship” songs that focus on anything other than God and His majestic love, we make the mistake that Moses was careful to avoid, and become gods unto ourselves without even realizing it. Everything must be according to His plan, the plan given to us on the mountaintop of His presence.
