Spiritual Food in Quarantine

Our church’s canons emphasize that the goal of all discipline is restoration, not punishment. It’s consistent with the teaching of Jesus and of scripture. Followers of the Lord are to be gently restorative, not readily and viciously condemning.

Paul advises us not to be arrogant and think we stand but humbly take heed because we too might fall. We should guard ourselves against being overly zealous in crucifying others for their mistake and be slow to speak and slow to anger. We might find ourselves committing the same sin, and when we do, we would likely want to receive mercy, not condemnation. Let us remember what Jesus said, that in everything, we should treat people the same way we want them to treat us, because that is the Law and the Prophets.
