Jesus concluded His Sermon on the Mount by saying that everyone who hears His words and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on the rock and it withstood the rain, the flood and the wind; but everyone who hears His words and does not act on them, is like a foolish man who built his house on the sand and it fell because of the rain, the flood and the wind, and great was its fall.Steadfast obedience to the word of the Lord is the oil that will cause our lamps to stay lit and prepare us for His coming.
