Hebrews 3: 13: “Encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called ‘Today’, lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.” It is too much to expect to remain faithful throughout an entire lifetime of human foibles and the deceits of the devil going through it all by ourselves. That is why God has placed us in His house with other believers. We are all charged to encourage and even push each other, just as Mary did with Jesus; such interaction builds strength. Just as Eve, when alone in the Garden, was deceived by the serpent, so we, too, are vulnerable when separated from the encouragement (and prodding) of others.
