Wednesday, November 1: “True Light Arising”
Psalm 112: 4: “Light arises in the darkness for the upright; he is gracious and compassionate and righteous.”
Today we celebrate those who became lights in their generation (Philippians 2: 15), and rightfully so. They are those who took the words of today’s Gospel reading, the Beatitudes, and embodied them for all to see. Their grace, compassion, and righteousness remain to this day as shining examples of God’ life and love. Why else do you think the ancient artists painted them with halos encircling their heads?
