“A Matter of Proportion”

Psalm 119: 115, 121: “Depart from me, evildoers, that I may observe the commandments of my God … I have done justice and righteousness; do not leave me to my oppressors.” The beauty of this psalm is often noted, in that all 176 verses proclaim the majesty of God’s Word. But also note that every verse except these two contain the possessive pronoun “Your,” referring to God. Instead they use the pronoun “my.” That’s a pretty good proportion: 174 / 2. Perfection would be 176 / 0. It’s all His.
