“Nothing Better to Do?”

Acts 14: 19: “But Jews came from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.” Sad, no? Antioch was more than one hundred twenty-five miles from Lystra, where Paul was, while Iconium was a forty mile journey. And in those days, travel was not easy. Yet the Jews from those cities had no problem making the trip for the sole purpose of killing Paul. Why not go fishing instead? That’s better than fighting God, and they would have had a much better chance of success.
