“Enemy o’ Mine”

Matthew 5: 25: “Make friends quickly with your opponent at law while you are with him on the way, in order that your opponent may not deliver you to the judge.” There are two basic ways to deal with enemies: destroy them, using violent means if necessary (or just because you like it that way), or make them your friends. This latter approach is what King David often did, and Jesus Himself was popularly known as the ‘friend of sinners.’ That’s because the Kingdom of God is progressed in relationship, not enmity.
