“Highway to Destruction”

Matthew 7: 13-14: “Enter by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide, and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter by it. For the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.” By now the analogy should be obvious: It’s easy to cruise down the 12-lane highway, while driving over unpaved cow paths is hard and sometimes unpleasant work. Anyone expecting an easy, labor-free life when becoming a Christian is doomed to disappointment. However, it’s joyous labor as opposed to life-sapping sloth. Amazingly, as obvious a choice as that seems to be, many still opt for the superslab.
