“Suitable Administration”

Ephesians 1: 10: “With a view to an administration suitable to the fullness of the times, that is, the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth.” What kind of administration will rule in eternity, over both heaven and earth? This question is answered by the Ascension of Christ into heaven, from where He now reigns over all, in this and every age, with everything now under His feet (vv. 20-21, part of the readings in tomorrow’s Eucharist). This is why it is important to celebrate Ascension - to remember and proclaim Who is in charge, today and tomorrow.
