“Do What You Can”

Luke 8: 1b-3: “The twelve were with Him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses; Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who were contributing to their support out of their private means.” There weren’t many ministry opportunities available for females in those days, but these grateful women did what they could – they supported the whole group. That was a good start, but that beginning led to something greater: were these not the first evangelists on Easter Sunday morning? (Luke 23: 55; 24: 10) In today’s society, less restrictive toward women, how much more can be done in His Name!
