“Hope Personified”

1 Thessalonians 2: 19: “For who is our hope or joy or crown of exaltation? Is it not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus at His coming?” Are the saints of Thessalonica really the hope of St. Paul? Yes – but only as related to the coming of the Lord Jesus. The fact that they are involved in His return makes them accessories and participants in Paul’s ultimate hope – the hope that Christ is here, that He is coming, and that all these things are infused into our current existence. It all leads to one great hope for tomorrow and today.
