“Angry Prayer”
1 Timothy 2: 8: “I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension.” Have you ever heard an angry prayer? I’m pretty sure God hasn’t. Oh, He hears ranting, He just doesn’t confuse that with prayer. St. Paul already said that prayer should be made “on behalf of all men” (2: 1), not against those who tick us off. Especially in these politically-charged times, we need to make sure our prayers aren’t tainted by anger-fueled dissension.
