“Hi, Neighbor!”

Luke 10: 36: “Which of these three do you think proved to a neighbor to the man who fell into the robber’s hands?” What’s in a name? Of the characters in this story, one would expect the priest or the Levite to win the title ‘neighbor’ rather than the Samaritan, who would usually be cast as the antagonist. But their labels don’t matter. A priest or Levite who doesn’t love doesn’t get to be called neighbor. Only the act of love, helping those who need help, will get you that distinction.
