“A Strange Transformation …”
1
Samuel 11: 6: “Then the Spirit of God came upon Saul mightily when he heard these words, and he became very angry.” Who is this, David Banner? The Spirit of God is supposed to make someone more loving, not angrier. But like Gideon before him (Judges 8), Saul was used by God in the necessity of the moment, even in the weakness of his flesh. Did that excuse his latter failures? No, but it does show that a sovereign God can use anyone to serve His purposes – for a while, at least.
