“Fire on Calvary”

Luke 23: 34, 43: “But Jesus was saying, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’… and He said to him, ‘Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise.’” How fired up was Jesus? Even on the cross, He was still preaching! And for those who claim that the Father abandoned Him there because He couldn’t tolerate sin, why is Jesus still praying to Him at first, assuming He’s still around, then making plans to see Him later in Paradise, and bring one of the thieves along? Can you see any estrangement there? No, only fire.
