“Time Out!”

Luke 23: 56b: “And on the Sabbath day they rested according to the commandment.” Wow, after all the intensity, drama, intrigue, and downright pathos on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, on the Sabbath everything was laid aside and they rested, as if nothing had happened. It reminds you of the stories of Christmas Day on the front lines of battle, when opposing armies would lay down their arms, get together, and have a ball game. Question: when’s the last time you laid down something – anything - on the Sabbath?
