“Suffer in Silence?”
Acts 17: 16, 17: “Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was being provoked within him as he was beholding the city full of idols. So he was reasoning in the synagogue with the Jews and the god-fearing Gentiles, and in the market place every day with those who happened to be present.” My spirit is provoked. What to do, what to do? If you’re St. Paul, you reason respectfully with the source of your provocation. Not all will agree with you (v. 32). But some will get the point (v. 34). The main thing is, are we sensitive to the Spirit of God within us? It’s either that, or we grieve Him (Ephesians 4: 30).
