“Old-age Prayer, Numerous Years Early”

Psalm 71: 9: “Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails.” The psalmist who wrote this prayer was not yet old, he was just feeling old. There’s no need to worry about those years before they happen; take care of business (and yourself) now, and think geriatric thoughts when you really are “old and gray.” (v. 18) Claim and use God’s provision of strength, whatever your age.
