“Breeding Ground of Fear”

Mark 5: 36: “Jesus said to the synagogue official, ‘Do not be afraid any longer; only believe.’” We begin the study of fear with the obvious: fear is an outgrowth of weak or misplaced faith. When we place our faith in the medical industry (“They can fix it!”) or the media industry (“Understanding and awareness of the facts will fix it!”), or we put faith nowhere at all, fear will be all over us. As Jesus says here, the true solution is basic; belief in a good and loving God. It’s a simple first step toward the conquering of fear.
