Day 21: Spiritual Food in Quarantine
“For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” (2 Cor 4:17)
It won’t exactly be politically correct to refer to humanity’s current plight as light affliction. But seen through the lens of God’s eternal plan, anything temporal would seem insignificant. “I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us,” says St. Paul in another letter. Anything temporal would pale in comparison to what God has in store for His people. That is not to take away from the truth that no testing is pleasant for the moment. But we can endure with hope, knowing that our distress is temporary. Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, what the Lord has prepared for those who love Him. That eternal weight of glory is far beyond all comparison.
