Day 25: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

Bearing Fruit (Mark 12:1-11)

Yesterday and today the gospel is about bearing fruit. The metaphorical vineyard in the parable has been equipped with everything it needs to produce good fruit. That vineyard is the Church. This is why we never really cancelled church services because of the pandemic. We may have changed the format of some activities but church services are not only those that happen inside a building. The Church should all the more be bearing fruit and serving the needy now. I'm glad that church members are doing so in the frontlines and behind the scenes, inside and outside the parish premises. The Church is the people of God. Bear fruit is what we do. That's our calling, in crisis or not, in season or out.
