Day 31: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”

What if the front liners who attend to the thousands who are infected by Covid-19 worldwide didn’t perform well in school and flunked their final exams? Well, it seems the care of souls and all creation was entrusted to such men. The apostles heard eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ resurrection from Mary Magdalene and two other disciples but did not believe them. This, after three years of missing the whole point of Jesus calling them. So He reprimanded them but then commissioned them to preach the gospel. Truth be told, we are no more prepared than the apostles. I’m not talking about seminary education, but life and spiritual training. But you see, God purposely chooses what the world considers foolish and weak to put the wise and strong to shame, so that our faith would not rest on the ability of men, but on the power of God. He accomplishes what concerns us His way.
