Day 32: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

“I know you are looking for Jesus. He is not here, He has risen.”

Jesus has risen. He is exalted on high, not away from here as in outer space, but in the heavenly realm. He said, “In My Father’s house there are many dwelling places; I am going there to prepare a place for you and coming back to receive you, so that where I am, there you may be also.

The disciples were looking for Jesus in the wrong place. We are to look for things where Jesus has gone ahead, St. Paul says (Col 3:1ff), not on things that are passing away. How? By putting aside the works of death: anger, wrath, malice, slander, abusive speech, lying. And replacing them with things found in the kingdom where Jesus is: compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness, peace. We do that not in the hope of evacuating this world to be in that kingdom, but to hasten its coming and taking over here.
