Day 36: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

Joy in the midst of trials

Peter wrote, "All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by His great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance kept in heaven, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine.

(1 Pet 1:3-4, 6-7)

I really cannot add anything to that so I'll just highlight some points: 1) We are born again by God's mercy and Jesus' resurrection, not by our choosing

2) Moth or rust cannot destroy and thieves cannot break in and steal our priceless inheritance.

3) We have reason to truly rejoice despite momentary affliction.

4) Trials validate our faith.

This is why we proclaim the good news of great joy.
