Day 89: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” (Gal 6:10)

I am thankful for and blessed by the kindness shown by many in the wake of Covid-19. Numerous medical professionals, government officials, providers of goods and services, volunteers and donors displayed this virtue, some even risking life and limb in the process. Churches themselves have not been remiss. In a country that is 93% Christian, this is obviously a reflection of our faith. Scripture encourages us to do good to all men in imitation of our God, the ultimate lover of man. We may have suffered losses, but in the midst of the bad, good emerged victorious.

On this Independence Day, may we stop thinking we are a third-world nation and realize we are blessed and thus have the ability to bless others as well. If we do, many more will help the needy and crisis or no crisis, charity will be our way of life.
