Holy Tuesday, March 26: “Trust in the Resurrecting God”

2 Corinthians 1: 9: “Indeed, we have the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God Who raises the dead.”

Sometimes we have to get to the end of our rope before we remember that we had the Lord’s lifeline with us all along. It was only when Abraham had the sacrificial knife above his son’s prone form that he saw the ram caught in the thicket. As Hebrews says, he knew that no sentence of death could deter God’s promise from coming to him; we, too, must realize that the sentence of death is but a reminder to trust in the resurrecting God.
