"God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:17)
It’s pretty clear what Jesus said about His Father, that He didn’t send Him to judge the world but to save it. He didn’t go through the trouble of being made human in Christ and dying a cruel death just so He could condemn sinful men. He’s a Savior, not an executioner. He obviously thought they were worth giving His life for.
But we should not receive God’s saving grace in vain. We will only experience the fullness of it if we receive it with thanksgiving and, as Saint Paul tells his Philippian disciples, keep working toward that day when we will finally be all that Christ saved us for and wants us to be. The same grace will empower us to fulfill this.
